My tank was quite heavily planted , due to a change of fish I removed all plants ( hastily) , but recently noticed a lot of roots left in sand !!

Could this affect my water ?? Can't shift slight ammonia no matter how many water changes I do !!!!???

Maybe test your tap water? -after sitting for 24hours
How much water do you change and do you dechlorinate?
how long has the tank been set up?

API test kit
Fully cycled
Easy life dechlorinater !
Only a recent problem , tank is not overstocked
Running x2 externals 405, 305, and a trickle filter ,
?? Who nos ,, have just hatched fry so water can't be that bad ,,?
No missing fish !!
Might give the sand a good mix about on next wAter change
Do 25% twice a week !
