What do you mean by a "normal light"? Light is by far the most important thing to get right when starting with aquatic plants, beginners rarely have enough, and then wonder why their plants die.
What you should aim for is 2 Watts per gallon of full spectrum, (5500K - 6500K), fluorescent light turned on for 10-12 hours a day. If your tank is deeper then a normal tank, a hex for example, you'll need a bit more. Once you have that, you have "Medium" light.
Then browse the list at
Tropica and pick some you like that match your water chemistry, require Medium light and are flagged as "Easy" or "Very Easy" - if you do this, you won't need to worry about CO2 injectors or other more advanced plant stuff.
Once you've got some good gardening experience, you may want to consider upping your light, building a CO2 reactor and trying some of the more difficult plants - it's a whole hobby by itself! Good luck.
