what type should i get for my
1 cichlid tank
1 tetra/krib tank

depends what sort of fish you are keeping,
what ph,temperature and how much light you have in your tank if you want live plants,
and if you want fake plants i would definitely go for silk plants because they are less likely to harm your fish and also look more natural.

12 cichlids and 1 shark in my 40 gallon, Ph 7.8, temp 77, 30watts light

22 assorted tropicals in my 20 gallon, P7.2, temp 77, 20watts of light

You have very low light levels so any real plants will need to be things like java fern or anubias. Depending on the cichlid,many of them love to uproot plants and rearrange the whole tank. In the cichlid tank that often means only fake plants will work. For my way of thinking, I like the silk plats a lot better than plastic once they are in the tank. The silk plants seem to get a bit of algae growing on them and look even more real when that happens.

You need to get another light (tube).

Than you will have 60 Watts.

There are colored tubes, which will emit a significantly different color of light, that is if you want that.

But what you are most likely going to be seeing at your LFS is just a range of different light tubes, that are the same watts, but have a different K (Kelvin) rating.

Kevin is the amount of energy a certain light source will give off.

For plants you would want a light tube with a K rating around 2800-6000. A lower K rating, the more red/yellow/orange the light given off is going to be.

The more you move up in the light spectrum (K rating), the more blue the light is going to become.

by blue light do you mean clearer

Kinda, I guess if want to put it that way.

It will just be more blue, more vibrant.

While the other lights with a lower K rating will be more yellow (like the sun).
