Hi

Can you advise which plants are easy to look after and will not shed their leaves regularly or at all.

My plant i have keep sheding it leaves and getting in the filter. The fish i have also damage the leaves which makes they fall off. Are there any plants which the fish will not damage when they feed on them.

Maybe I should go for some more plastic plants!!

Thanks

Hi,

plants which are pretty robust and don't tend to shed are vallis, crypts, anubis, java fern and sword plants. Anubis and java fern should be tied to wood or ricks rather than buried in the gravel.

Plants don't shed there leaves.
Leaves will fall off if the plant is dieing though. You'll have to solve the problem as to why they are dieing.
Some information about your tank will help us help you. How much lighting? Any Co2. Fertiliser?
You mentioned your fish damage your plants? Wha type of fish? Large Cichlids, Silver Dollars? Most community fish are fine with plants.

we would need the info radar has asked for to find the problem, anubias laeves can last for months , it is very robudt, needs little lighting and no co2

Hi,
Could you let us know how many litres your tank holds and the amount of light (measured in watts) over your tank please?

At first glance I would say your lighting is insufficient which is causing the plants to not be able to photosynthesise enough, meaning they die. It could also be from not adding enough fertiliser to feed them with, and/or not having a good substrate to give nutrients to them.
