I noticed yesterday that the plants were rather brown looking and droopy. So this morning I did a complatet overhaul- took everything out, stirred up the sand, repositioned the wood, took all the dead bits off the plants and replanted. Anyways. Lighting probably not brilliant, not sure what wattage though. No C02, but I can probably set one up once I've tidied the whole room up. No airpump either. No fertilizer. LOL, I'm not really a plant person. So now the layout of the tank is here- http://photobucket.com/albums/y14/Oohfeesh...current=log.bmp Excuse the drawing... Anyway, should I add some fertilizer, and can you think of a nice layout to the tank? I'm getting some java moss/fern soon so that will probably go on the log.

EDIT- The only plants are straight vallis.

my vallis for some reason isn't looking too great at the moment either, although its normaly very good.

find out your wattage and tank size, although it will grow in fairly shaded spots it does like a lot of light, well the more the better.

is it definatly straight vallis and not the spiraled variety? i always find the straight doesnt need quite so much light as the spiraled for some reason.

as they have quite long roots you could try a fertilizer tablet pushed nder the clump as that always tends to pick them up.

Its a 20g. It did have some amazon swords and wisteria, but both got moved. The swords because they were getting ravaged by snails and the wisteria because it didn't fit in. But the wisteria was doing really well. Oops, forgot to check wattage. I'l put it up later.
