First the nutrient question;

"I have read that some people superglu their java fern and moss to the wood. Does this inhibit nutrient take up at all ? Is it just a case of a blob of glue and hold the plant stem on it ? Does the wood have to be dry or do you need a special brand of superglu ? Thanks

And now the begging letter... hehe...

I am just setting up a small planted tank and on the scrounge for the following/similar plants;

Amazon swords
Vallis (pref twisted)
Java Fern
Anubias
Saggitaria
Ech. Tennellus
Any bulbs esp Tiger Lily

If you have anything you have spare, please PM me. I have nothing to offer in return at present as its a new tank, though will cover postage and am happy to donate stuff once my tank is nice and lush, thanks :)

grow you annubias in container where only the bottom of the plant is submerged (mid stalk) and grow it out under a good light with nutrients, they grow twice as large, once they meet you size standards, just put them in your tank.

don't glue your plants, tie themwith cotton string, and nice choice of plants

Thanks :good:

i glue mine. i believe i read somewhere that java fern gets all it needs via the leaf's the roots are merely to attach it down to stuff (not sure if that correct)
use 100% cyanoacrylate glue just dont smother the plant in it.. a small drop will do =D (iv even glued moss's)

Is that the same as crazy glue?

Thanks Mike, is there a common name for that glue, or product name? Where do you get yours from ?

you'll need Cyanoacrylate (superglue). Reefers use it to secure corals, and we know how obsessed they are with their water stats!
