AC, the OP used the term 'fan' when he was obviously talking about a powerhead. Therefore I repeated the term and gave him the correct one.

Point made didn't see the powerhead bit, read fan and missed it. Sorry about that.

I would go for a bigger filter or a circulation pump rather than a powerhead. filter will minimise in tank equipment and a circulation pump will give more oomph with less force than a powerhead.
