Hi guysJust swapped from gravel to sand in my 4ft tropical tank and would like a bit of advice.
What's the best way of securing plants as i've only got about an inch of sand and two powerheads at either end which is making the plants lean over.
I've mounded sand at the base but they're still sort of leaning and the only ones that are upright are the ones that are in the flattish spots.
I don't want to put more sand in the tank for obvious reasons so any help would be great.
Cheers

Steve.

what are the reasons? normally plants have 2-3 inches of sand in tanks

I didn't wat to put too much sand in just in case i get anaerobic build ups.
I was advised as to put around an inch of sand in.

if your worryed about anaerobic build ups get a fish/snail which digs, assassin snails might be good also MTS, but your plants will need more than a inch to root in

Cheers Mike.
I've got 7 albino corys and 2 large weather loach which seem to be rooting around fine but i have clown loach which i'm worried may attack the snails.
The apple snails i had a while ago where constantly attacked by the loaches.

corys will do the job fine themselfs :p so you wont need snails

Cheers Mike.
