I want to grow some plants but don't want deep gravel or sand in the tank and also have issues with plant roots being dug up. Has anyone got any experience with using pond plant baskets? I plan to line a few pond baskets with clear plastic liners and fill with laterite and sand so that 3 or 4 plants can go in each basket. Then round pebbles on top of the sand will stop fish from digging the roots up. I'll obviously need to hide the pots with rock/driftwood but wondered if anyone had tried a similar approach and whether it worked or not?

Cheers

It works fine I would not use plastic though as it may cause the sand in the pots to become anaerobic. Some netting would be better I think. I have used clay pots with little extra holes in the sides when I was rearing discus babies.
