plants in cichlid tank

hey, what kind of plants will not get ate in a cichlid tank? everything that i seem to put in gets ate within a month or so.

Java fern is said to be unappetizing to fish , but we have a Severum who doesn't mind the taste at all .

Or silk and/or plastic

some convicts, and rams. and i hate fake plants. they are so lame.

Convicts and rams are New world cichlids .[ This is the African Cichlid forum ]

Do you keep them in the same tank ? I hope not , Convicts can easily kill Rams .

Most plants will work with Rams .

Convicts like to dig and will move plants , for convicts you could try Java fern , and anubias ,these can be left floating or you can attach them to a rock or a piece of wood , or some other kinds of floating plants like horn wart or water sprite [ NO GUARANTEES ].

If you take away the convicts then you could get any plants you want or that is compatible with your lighting system...convicts like to dig just like african cichlids and they tend to be really aggresive when breeding so watchout for your rams...just my 2 cents.....
