I have a 16 gallon biorbe. The biorbe has large rocks for its subsrate. I put the plants roots under the rocks. Will this work? Do aquarium plants need soil like regular plants? If so is there something I can wrap the roots in...like a clay material?

Is there anything I need to add to the water for these plants? The LFS said the plants were Anubias.

Thanks.

Anubias ive never tried, but certainly there are some easy going plants that will grow in the substrate, cambomba, vallis and more, floating plants have always done well for me in a biorb too... the hardest part is actually getting them to stay put... as well as getting them planted in the first place, maybe buy some in mini terrocatta pots and let them sink , or you could always change the substrate to either a fine gravel or sand type ( with ferts).
shelagh xx

have a look at this.. its another members collection of biorbs .. they are stunning http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/220270-my-tankssome-of-them-be-round/

thanks for the suggestions. Would Java Fern do well? since it attaches to rocks would it attach itself well to the rock substrate or would that cause a problem?
