Hi there to everyone.
Had lots of help in the beginner section, but I now need help with my plant choices.
Basically about three weeks ago I bought a Tetratec Aqua Art 60ltr tank which is my first tank.
I didn't do my research and found out that I need more light than the 15W included for most plants to flourish.
Tetratec don't do, to my knowledge, a higher watt light and I can't seem to find a good way of adding a better light due to the way they have designed the hood !! Plus I'm a bit scared of electricity/water etc etc.

What I really need is some comments on the plants I have (most have been in for 1-2 weeks).
Plus a list of other plants I could use which would grow in very low light levels.

Please help.
I'm so stressing and I haven't got any fish yet !!

Thanks M

Just looked at the manual and the light is 6500 K (if that helps any?)

All the plants you've got should do ok under that much lighting. A few comments thou, the central grass plants, think its fountain grass, is non aquatic and will die so best removed sooner rather than later.

The java fern and anubias (two plants in front and to the right of the bogwood) are best attached to something with cotton, as left in the substrate they will rot, but will do great if attached to something that keeps them out of the substrate, and eventually they anchor themselves with their roots to it.

Other possible plants are rotala species, ludwigia (sp? its far to late to be looking it up!), most of the sword species, java most, all the anubias species, most stem plants, crypt species. In general, the plants stocked by LFS are good for low light and thats what most people have> low light.

Check out tropica.com for more ideas.

In addition, the small, grass-like plant on the right, the dark green one is Japanese rush, also a non-aquatic. If it must be kept submerged, it needs much cooler temperatures, say for goldfish and is often used as a marginal plant in goldfish ponds. Below is a comprehensive list of plants for lower light levels.
