i plan on converting my 4x2x2 into a planted discus comunity. i will be using a plant substrate under the gravel and t8 lighting , can anybody advise easy to grow plants suited to this type of setup please? partucularly some that will grow to the top of the waterline? ( 2 foot)

Most of the standards for low-light (crypts, vallis, anubias, swords), will also do alright in higher water temperatures. Avoid egeria and ludwigia, egeria especially prefers lower temperatures that are not found in discus tanks.

You can even keep it South American if you work with just vallis and swords.

yeah i was thinking maybe amazon swords and giant valis. altho i will not be using co2 but i will be using planting substrate under the gravel. would the swords thrive without co2?

my Amazon swords are doing great with 1.25wpg and no co2. i dose 5mls TPN+ daily, but that's it.

cheers :good:
