Well, at the minute I have java fern and my lighting is provided by the kitchen spotlights, but i'm buying a new tank soon and it will have just standard lighting, is there any plants that are easy to care for, don't need alot of light and don't need ferts? They have to be fairly easy to get a'hold of and be reasonably cheap and compatible with small fish in a 15G.

Thanks in advance,
Neal

once the tank has cycled, cabomba and horns wort (spelling)
they both grow very fast require no special lighting or ferts, but do get clogged up with alge (as i recentky found out) which kills them

Try anubias, java fern and java moss they are all good easy to grow plants, taht can take a battering. See also the pinned article on plants that should give you more advice.

I think I might just wait then, I want to get my tank sorted out first, the java fern, natural ferns and silk plants will be fine for the timebeing.

Thanks,
Neal
