Plants Dying !

You can make your own

Big Al's has Tropica Plant Nutrition, but not the "+" version which contains the macro nutrients. Pobably because they think it causes algae  :S

Can you find Easylife products? Easylife Nitro and Easylife Fosfo.

Thanks for the response.............

The whole thing about making your own-- I dont want to over-dose something and kill my tank and fish... BUT very informative!!

I will try to look for Easy-Life products because like you said that Al's carries just regular TPN which I don't need because the Flourish should cover it.........

HOPEFULLY I can find SOMETHING!
will post back

I've never heard of anyone killing fish or shrimp in their tank due to overdosing nutrients. It simply doesn't happen. Killing inhabitants with CO2 is the main cause of deaths in planted tanks.

UPDATE:::

So I shut the bubbler off a while back and it seems like it was that and the combination of only having root tabs. The bubbler has been off for over a week and I have been dosing Seachems Flourish for about 2 weeks at once a week and the "dying" has stopped!!!! The plants seem to even grow a little quicker and GREENER from what I can notice .... Thanks for all your help guys/gals!!!!!!!

Quick question about dosing.... how often should I be dosing the Flourish (micro) ... the bottle says once or twice a week so I have been only doing once....

Depends on lighting but even high tech tanks dont need to dose micro nutrients more than 3x a week.

Just to say I have a LOW light tank
I think im just going to stick with the 1 x a week becuse I seem to be getting results with this right after I do my weekly water changes.
I was surprised it must of been the micros and/or the bubbler disposing of the C02 that was causing my plants to suffer.

I'm using just normal flourish at the moment and i am dosing 2ml everyday in my 50g. Its doing a good job.

That's by the EI method of dosing. Any planted tank I have that is also recieveing carbon addition, I will dose micro nutrients two/three times a week.
Doing it everyday ensures that the nutrients dont run out which may lead to health problems. However this is more commonly associated with macro nutrients which plants need so much more than micro nutrients. Hence why you can afford to dose micro nutrients only three times a week.
Work out how much you need (ml per litre) and just dose that three times a week. Observe and judge from there. If the plants show sign of trace element deficieny, then up the dosage, or up the frequency.
