Hi all
would like your opinions as to is it better to plant swords, mosses and any other plants
before cycling or after cycle is finished, they will only be easy to grow plants hopefully,
i will only be using a sand substrate, and is there any nutriments in capsule form i could
plant with them.
thanks.

Have a read of this.

If you're not used to planted aquariums then fishless cycle the tank first, with no plants and with the lights off.
Then you can focus on the plants.
thanks for reply,
but looking for people on the forums experiences, dont really want to go into the scientifics of it,
just straight answers,but thanks anyway

Why? The science surely gives you all you need to know. Did you read the whole article?
If you try to cycle the tank with the lights on and with plants then you'll just get aglae. Light+ammonia = algae.

if your gonna do an ammonia based fishless cycle then, no don't add the plants before as you gonna have to give the plants some light and light, along with the ammonia will trigger algae. The link that has been provided explains an alternative way to cycle a tank.
