Planted Tank, New, Ready For Shrimp Yet?

ive set up a planted tank and its been running four days, im adding more plants tomorrow, but i was wondering if i could get away with a few cherry shrimp to keep the algae under control

also, do cherry shrimp eat the dark furry algae that appears on my bogwood?

how do you plan on cycling it? or is it already cycled?

shrimp wont last two seconds during cycling IME

ok cool, just a basic awnswer is all i wanted really lol, i was told i could add them really early because they have little bioload, i was skeptical so i asked on here lol

they need a mature tank also

dont add shrimp until your tank is cycled takes approx 4-6 weeks
then wait until you have 2 weeks of tests after cycling showing 0 nitrite and 0 ammonia everyday - DO not add any additives to the tank containing copper as that will kill the shrimp as soon as you add them

meds containing copper, malachite green or formalhyde etc will kill shrimp. however off the shelf ferts contain copper but not enough to kill shrimp...even at a quadruple dose. i think andy dose 10x the normal amount with no adverse affects
