am toying with the idea of starting a nano again

35L ARC TANK

Now what other equipment would you need

Is filter/heater needed?

Heater might be needed depending on what plants you select. If you have no livestock (or low bioload live stock such as shrimp) then you can do without the filter. However you might want something in there to give you some water movement so maybe a small external filter would be useful.

In terms of other equipment it depends what you want to grow. You will need lights, substrate (again depends what your growing) and ferts. Maybe CO2 (if you are going for a high light tank). With low lights and the right plants you can go without CO2.

it was mainly the heater/filter was looking to know about

Hair-grass would be the main plant

So pretty much filter and heater is needed.
Was trying to keep running costs done but If I need both might as well stock it with some very small Fish

That small filter looks awesome

So basically in a nano you want fine leaved plants to give the impression of a bigger tank. I think this is where I went wrong in my other attempted of a nano went pear-shape ^^

yes, hemanthius micranthemoides is great, along with hairgrass and if you are having a high tec set up then hemanthius callacthricoides as a crapet will do well.
