Planted Attempts

Tank has cycled and put in the fish few days ago! Alot of changing around but latest pics of plants: what you think or is there anything i can move to improve?

I will start a journal soon with the tank at first until what it is now hopefully. Any criticism welcome

That's really attractive. The small plants by the bog wood: I think these are dwarf Sag. (Saggitaria natans)They will make a carpet of arching stems in a short space of time, and many of your other plants look like fast growers, so you'll be able to flog us all cuttings before long. With a tank as nice as that you'll probably have a fair few takers as well!

Cheers...i have cuttings coming out of my ears once a week! alot of them have had 2 or 3 trimmings now! Ill be happy to pass the trimmings on in a few weeks if anyone wants them!

i'd suggest someforground covering, just looks bare in the front. I actually like the colors of it though looks good. maybe another piece of driftwood would look nice on the left hand side aswell to give some covering too..

i was thinking of getting something to form a grass like cover..3rd picture from bottom is what i ordered to sample...would that give a nice cover over the substrate? (its Hemianthus Callitrichoides) or is there a better covering that i could use?

Hi i like the colours you have going on in there, i agree with nicklefire about the foreground but apart from that i think it looks very nice and should look great when it all fills out. regards john

Thanks..i ordered 8 pots of HC from greenline, arriving tomorrow i will post another pic tomorrow evening once i get it all planted. Can i just submerse it straight away?

as promised latest pictures...i thought the HC would have covered more but after i rearranged a few of the small plants and the grass on left hand side i had alot more space...so will order more on Monday

but here it is after the HC was added. i am near sure these are the pics of only one tube on

Your tank looks really good. I really like the piece of driftwood you have in the tank. If you havnt already. Could you post for spec of your tank please. Im interested to know.

i came across the driftwood by accident, just happened to see it in corner of my eye at lfs!

spec:

165litre tank
fluval 305 filter
2 x 24watt triplus tubes (replacing one tube with a t5 55watt next week)
Redsea bio CO2 system - changed to homemade mix
Powered diffuser
I use the fert bags from Greenline to add ferts..but starting EI next week
