Here are some more pics of the my Juwel Rekord 70ltr aquarium.
I'm not happy with the Vallis and wish to rip it out and change to something else. (Supposed to be an easy species I know but I cannot get it to go at all & I do not want to change parameters just to suit it) It is planted in the background left and it is next to some Ambulia any alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.(Something which would compliment the whole picture). Thanks in advance..

This is the problematic Vallis..

Sorry I cant help. I am an outside gardener not an aquatic one. I have vallis in my tank & its growing well, putting out runners with new plants. Any way just wanted to say what a stunning tank.

Thanks again gf225.. Pleased with the overall suggestion but I'm getting differences of opinions when cross-referencing the species Sagittaria subulata on the net, some sites have it's growth as (foreground plant) between 10cms-30cms and on one site 50cms. I need it to grow to at least 24cms to hide the CO2 reactor. Have you personally purchased this species or witnessed it's size. I'm only asking as I don't want to order it and find out it's not going to grow enough to camouflage to aformentioned.
Once again thank you in advance for your time and trouble...

Looks good BigC.

Vallis is a strange plant, when my lighting was low it grew madlly but when i tried it about 4months ago with higher lighting it didnt grow like yours and eventually died..

How about Hygrophila corymbosa ''angustifolia''. check click here for info.

Thanks nitro for your post, I have got the usual H. Polysperma on the righthand side so was looking for a different kinda leaf shape i.e long & elongated. Your interest is much appreciated and I do prefer the Tropica brand when it comes to purchasing plants.
Thanks once again.

hi Big C, what you moaning about. From what i can see your vallis looks perfectly healthy.

is this a case of run out of things to do so need a new project.... (GF225's issues are rubbing off on you, i'm gonna see a stripped out 70Ltr soon aren't i..with an "any ideas" post)

lovely tank as usual

No way jimbooo, no intention of doing that, for one I havent got the bottle to totally disrupt everything. Just cannot see any signs of new growth on Vallis compared to the other plants. I've enough to keep me occupied at the moment as I'm working on a new tank design. If you can envisage a 6x2x2 foot tank stood up on it's end & smaller tanks inserted into this with a kinda overflow system ( for my Killies). See diag pic. of end view.

Not very clear I know ( the camera's not as good as yours) but I hope you get the general idea..

has your better half seen that...

rather you than me i'd end up with a very soggy carpet attempting something like that, great plan though. good luck.

as to the Vallis if you're about to remove it you may want to try one last thing, i literally cut all my vallis in half a few weeks ago (no leave was longer than 10 inches) and it grew back much brighter and healthier. may end up messing it up completely but nothing ventured nothing gained. up to you on that one.
