Hi,
Will shortly be draining my tank to fit the correct cabinet for it..(125 Juwel). While its empty was thinking of adding a plant substrate to go under the gravel i have...is there any plant substrate that has fine particles.?..Reason being have 3 cory catfish and as you know like to dig around the gravel...Did consider jbl aquabasis but (Maybe wrong here but understand cant add fish right away ?) Just wish to grow a few plants rather than fakes...Lighting is 2.4 wpg Failing that will do as Dave suggested and just use TPN+...with the gravel i already have which is the size of a zero on a keyboard (0) ...

Regards Zac

Aquabasis is fine, it doesnt contain ammonia.
having a nutritous substrate dos help, and if you are half way there then i would go for it, but as Dave said it isnt necassary, you just need to be more leanient on the water column dosing.

Also, with 2.4wpg you will need CO2, not sure if ou have it or not?

Thanks Arron.. Great so im o.k. to use Aquabasis...No... as of yet dont have Co2 but seriously thinking along those lines as the more i visit the plant and planted section the more interested im becoming...Will certainly be a bonus having Aquabasis ...and as im stripping the tank down be the right time to add it...was concerned that Aquabasis (Read it somewhere) gives off ammonia so fish can not be added right away.). You have put my mind at ease Arron so thats the way i will go..Thanks Regards Zac
