I am starting to prepare my tank now for getting cherry shrimp in the future. I go to a big shop in a few hours to buy java moss which i read is good. Could someone give me the names of other plants that would be good for a tank with shrimp and guppies

Thanks ;-)

You're right, java moss is great for shrimp, it is  good plavce for little micro-organisms to grow, which provide food for the shrimp (but they will need specific feeding too).

Other plants are basically down to your preference, but java fern (attached to wood), anubias (also attached to wood) and amazon swords (planted) are easy to keep.

Thanks for the quick reply. Also are you aware of any plants that will climb up and around things in the tank ?  I ask because my mother (bless her) decided to buy me an ornament for the tank. Its a bit cheesy for my liking to be honest. A big set of roman pillars, i put it in so not to offend her but think it would look better if it were covered in plants......... Preferably covered to the extent you cant actually see it !!
