Play, I shall explain a bit about my set up, then start draining all your brains of useful info that I need.
First off, I can't put any live plants in my 10 gallon as the apple snail eats anything green. anyone else have this problem? My 30 gallon, I tried having some Java ferns in it, they died. I dried having some Java moss, it didn't die but didn't grow. none of my other tanks have anything.
I tied the java moss down to some plastic mesh with fishing line per one artical I read, and moved it to my shallow 'shoebox' tank... I got it at walmart for like, 99 cents and its basically supposed to be a clear shoe box, so, maybe 10-11 long 6-7 wide and 6 tall? The Java moss seems to be growing here.
I have a spare 2.5 gallon and a spare 1.5 gallon bowl that I'd rather not put fish in. Is there any way I could use either of these to help grow plants? I could put them where they would receive lots of natural sunlight, or set it up to where they receive light from a desk lamp that uses regular 75(?) House bulbs.
If I was going to do this, what sort of equipment / supplies would I need, what sort of plants would be reccomended, and would I need an airstone or bubbler to go in either or both tanks?
So out of the 26 or so that looked at this, no one has an opinion on what I can or can't do with a 2.5 gallon to try and grow plants? O.O
