Plant Limits?

hi all

just wondering, do u know the way you can get like to much light for a tank, thus causing algal growths etc, well i think u can.

well anyway i was thinking can it be the opposite, like u dont have enough light for plants. like just say i have a 1.5 wpg tank, does it make a differnace if i have 5 or 20 vallis in there? like i know that strength of light is fine for them, but does the amount of plants in the tank make a differnace? like is there a certain light limit that gets taken up, like food for the fish. or is it unlimited and aslong as the lights strong enough for that certain plant you can have as much of it as u want in that tank.

Basically no, the only thing that will affect the plants when it comes to having enough light is whether or not the plants are shaded by other plants. For example if you have vals that are reallt tall and grow along the surface of the water then thy will shade out the plants below.

Like sam says, like if i was you like i would like make sure like that the plants arnt blocking out any other plants like

you only have a problem with to much light if other elements in your tank dont compliment the level of light such as Co2 and ferts.
