Just a quick easy question for somebody

How long do plants survive out of water? As i we travel the country quite a bit and see something out of the ordinary how long do we have to get it back home?

It will depend upon the plant, but I've had various stem plants, ferns, and mosses kept in sealed plastic bags with a little water in the bottom for about 3 days and they were okay.

The industary standard for thing like posting etc is 5 days.
