Bought some nice plants from a shop that was closing down nearby at a great price, I am in the process of setting up a second tank, but I am varnishing and staining the hood so will be a few days away from completion.

What are my options? (they are in a bucket at present with some fertilizer)

Place in existing tank bunched up as they are now till next weekend at latest?

Plant in existing tank and replant over next few weeks?

Place in the second tank that is currently got water but no light/filter set yet?

Not bothered about replanting, but rather have healthy plants from start than getting them to resettle after the move!

I have listed the offending items:

Hygrophila difformis
Elodea densa
Vallisneria spiralis

Thanks in advance

My guess is that they would be better off floating in the spare tank for now. The plants at the bottom of the bucket would get no light and start to suffer.

Im curently redoing my small tank but waiting on a few things. Ive had my plants in a bucket (with heater, sand, lamp and small filter) for about a month nearly. They are growing better than what they did in my tank!

Yea, I have found with the daphnia tank, that gets nothing but natural light, No filter and No Water change for 6 months. that plants do remarkably well.

PS off topic - Your from Banabury :good: , I grew up in Southam. Went to the Convent school there.
