Righty, I think i'm on the right track with my plants, but there are a few things that are going on that i need to fix.
Can you peeps take a look at these shots of a few plants and offer up some suggestions please.
Just to note, i've 2 x Tetratec 1200 with roughtly 2000 litres an hour turn over between the two, 2 x 900lph power heads, which gives me, roughtly speaking 4k lph circulation on a 400 litre tank. I have 2 x 54W T5 lights, on for 7 hours a day so roughtly 1wpg, and a FE CO2 setup also on for 7 hours, but staggered by two hours. I dose using EI methods, have been for the last couple of weeks, 80ml of macro, 80ml of Trace alternating daily with a 50% water change on the weekends.
This Crypt has been like this for god knows how long now.
This is a crypt which i took a snip from, planted and its grown 5 leaf stems in about 3 months. New leaves are relatively green, but were melting a little, that however seems ot have stopped, although, the leaves get dirty, like so:
This is an Anubias nana, its been attached to a bit of wood for ages. Its developing dark edges, no idea why, and there also seems to be a little green spot algae on a few other leaves.
Several leaves on my Java Fern have black "dead" patches on them and look a little "pitted" for want of a better word. New leaves do spring up and are very green to begin with and it looks quite nice, however, they seem to become like this fella after a while. I know some leaves with plantlets on the end die off, so need snipiing and i try to keep up with this. I've actually gone really mental with the Fern since taking this picture and cut it right back, all big leaves gone.
This plant, which i dont know the ID of, was ever so green when planted, but as just sat there limp and life less.
Im in a hard water area, i accept some plants just wont do well, all of the ones pictured are in an area with very good circulation, in fact it would be quite hard to pick out a dead spot in the tank.
The CO2 is diffused inline and comes out of the left hand spray bar in a fine mist. A power head helps push it along to the other end of the tank, while another powerhead at the other end helps circulate it back in the opposite way.
Any ideas / suggestions welcome
