It's a beautiful plant that I'd love to add to my soft, acidic tank. Unfortunately my LFS hasn't carried any, and my experiences with mail orders have been unsuccessful.

I love the look of the little rounded bushy plants that are growing on the 'grassy' stuff (sorry, newbie here!). Can anyone tell me what it is?

Thanks!

Sarah

I think they're rocks with hairnets or something around them... and then riccia growing up through the netting.

Either that or they're just covered in java moss.

See endparenthesis' post above.

I actually have a mess of riccia that I thought about mailing out to anyone that wanted it, but I'm not experienced in shipping live plants. My personal experiences with mail orders have not been very good. I'd expect the cost of shipping. It's quite a mess, as it's been left to grow wild in a smaller tank. You may get some algae, snails and duckweed (no actual duckweed, but the potential for there to be duckweed). I said it was a mess. :D
