Italian val. And yeah, these can get out of hand pretty quickly. You'll be amazed at how far a runner can travel to find a suitable spot.

It wont grow very fast in a discus tank, I had it growing in hard water and it grew really fast, I changed to soft water for the fish and now its just hanging in there.
