WOW I feel so stupid. I have been surfing for help on breeding bettas for a wile now and each time I have gone past this forum :*) I cannot believe it.

The thing is I need a plant the can hold a nest for Bettas. I have been told Duckweed is good but some people have insisted not to use it.

Can anyone suggest a good floating plant?

Also I asked about Mosquito larvae but was told other animals can breed in the water to kill the bettas.

How can you distinguish the Mosquito larvae from the others and can I feed it to the new fry not just the parents?

most people use java moss althogh it does not float. i have heard of using duckweed before and dont see much wrong with it. if you are looking for something to hold the nest-use a piece of styrofoam taped to the side of the tank. many people use styrofoam cup halves.
mosquito larvae can often be diseased. never collect mosquito larvae from your yard! most people feed microworms and baby brine shrimp. they are easy to obtain.

check out the breeding section in bettatalk.com for some great info.

betta lover-im onto you-trying to raise your post count! :p hehe :)
