Plant Advice

Hi, after some advice (as always)

After faffing about with the 5ft tank ive realised i NEED some tall plants. i currently have all the smaller ones put together under and around the filter (the severums seem to love swimming through). Now the other end looks incredibly bare with just some wood and a couple of rocks there.

What tall plants would you recommend? When it comes to plants im a complete noob. What im after is something a bit leafy at the back with something tall and thin at the front.

Hope this makes sense lol, also will the plants be ok near the heater?

I have ludwiga repens (a lot of people don't seem to like it...) and it grows easily, and in my tank if I let it, would easily hit 1 1/2 foot high. The leaves nearer the light turn a sort of postbox red colour, and they're just so easy to manage. They do have one negative in the fact they send out runners - which at times can look a little ugly. But, I love ludwiga.

You could try some of the Aponogeton species they normally grow quite tall, look good and are quite low maintenance

Amazon swords or some variety similar are a good leafy plant. Vallis are tall and thin, but spread like crazy and if you put them at the front, they could make viewing a bit difficult.
