Ive kept a figure eight puffer for a year and a half until a hurricane fried my aquarium stuff and i have been reluctant to replace him until now. Ive got my old 30 gallon tank and 50 gallon capacity filter. I hope this will be good. I pretty much plan on keeping it alone freshwater/low end brackish.(1.000, 1.005.) Are there any good tankmates. My last figure eight did not tolerate anything. Would a rubberlip pleco be ok? never tried a plec. with a puff. My lfs has some nice ones.

How about some Bumblebee Gobies? Have a look through this forum and the oddballs forum there are plenty of threads on F8 puffers.

If you get 2 of the Fig8's at a juvi age along with Bumblebee Gobies they should be fine. Mine are living rather nicely together.
