do these 2 different types of male grow to a similar size or are the P's smaller? when do bettas stop growing or do they get bigger the more that you feed them?

im still unsure on wether my new ones a male or female :shout: really want to find out!! is the white ball thing on females really distingtive? as cant seem to see it on my unknown sex betta!!? when on my red female it stands out like a sore thumb (the one which is unknow attacks my guppies the others dont at all)

also my VT has stopped building bubble nests but still seems pretty happy!! also id tryed to breed him but i took the female back out as she was in the vase for quite a while n he never bothered to build a nest  he used to all the time!!

**peas!! what type of peas do you feed the fish>? how are they prepared and given?

Peas: The common wisdom is to fast one day a week. The second day, feed a pea, parboiled and deshelled. Smush a piece between your fingers so it breaks up in the tank. Parboiled: nuke or boil a fresh or frozen pea until soft. Do not feed more than he will eat. Don't leave leftovers in the tank.

The ovipositor shows. There are different sizes of Betta according to the breeding. Generally the bodies are similar sizes. Just like most creatures, they are lighter and slimmer when young and then fill out as the reach full maturity. Then go thriugh the reverse as they age. The ventrals should be long and dangly on the male. The female is more likely to show prominant stress and breeding stripes than the male.

its a male!! finns are longer than the other n its attacked the guppies and other fish!! the females are ok with all the fish in my tank inc one another but he has a problem with them all :shout: its in a seperate tank now!!

how long can fish survive with no water????

one of my female jumped into the male side of my tank yesterday, popped her back in the correct side at once as she was getting chased my my male betta. THEN i went out for a few hours came back n she was gone!! shed jumped out and landed behind my chest of drawes on the carpet not moving BUT when i put it back in the water it sprung to life

YIKES! You're lucky - sounds like she jumped out not too long before you returned to find her. I think I've read that some can live an hour or two without water... but that's awful stress for them. Poor thing...

Please make sure you have a lid on your tank! Bettas JUMP... some more so than others.
