c'mon guys! let's make a list of places where you can get a gallon or larger container for cheap. :D I don't know about you, but I get really tired of seeing people insist that they "can't get anything" larger for their betta to live in. :p just to make it challenging, try to suggest nothing over $20

--------------------------------

recycling bin: (wash it first ;) )
--old nut container (just for you, dorkhedos)
--old jar of pickled eggs, etc
--large mixing bowl

grocery store:
--1 gallon dried goods jar
--1 gallon tupperware container
--small garbage can
--1 gallon pitcher

who else has suggestions?

Your cabinet- tupperware bowls and whatnot work wonders in a pinch.
Ooops, you already mentioned that one. But seriously theres a hundred things just around the house that can save time and trouble. If you're in a squeeze,it doesn't even have to be see through.

I LOVE these containers! :D They hold a little over a gallon I think. They're stackable too! They're about 4 bucks here.. I'm sure they're cheaper in the states though.

I thought of another -a guy in my club recently started using old coke bottles for his fry and he says they're great. Just cut the tops off of them. (they're not a gallon, but again, they're good for those times when theres no alternative)

ive never read any articles but dont you needh eating and filters for them also?

Anyway, here in England my Mum got 4 tupperware boxes , hold around 2-3 gallons, for £4 , i think theyre 4 fallon anywaym theyre quiet big! anyway, yeah, REAL cheap

Well you can pretty much use anything that doesnt have holes at the bottom. You can use a big flower vase, a clear soda bottle thats cleaned out.

I've found pretzels and other such snacks that come in giant clear plastic containers, I'm working on emptying one right now and will use it for yet another betta. :) You could always buy the container, which is only like $5-$7, empty the contents into ziplocs and have the container for use immediately. You basically get a free fish tank.

Also over herem we have a £1 shop, and im sure there are various things in there that you can be creative with. At my local shop, if you ask for old containers and such , they'd be hapy to give away therubbish, aslong as u clean it thoroughly and check for and minor/major cracks ect.

thats a realy good deal, my tank is 15 us gallons with everything cost me £64 , for u itd cost alot less , after buy filter and heater anyway
