Pix Of The Arowana

Lets say the Structure is in place and its 12 Foot Long by 8 Foot Wide and hoping to be 3 deep
No way! All glass? You arent planting it are ya? (I know you like your plants :shifty: )

so what quotes have had on building this tank?
with filtration heating and lights etc you gotta be looking at £5000?

I am using a Pre standing Structure already in situ for the frame and will have 1 or 2 glass panels(uncles Double Glazing Factory). Filtration designs have been done and it will have around 300-400 gallons of filtration using wet/dry towers.

But don't wanna spoil by too much info now. keep you guys waiting :p :p

Nice arrowana, I hope your tank is large enough, my little guy (I got him at about 3") grew to 18" in less than 2 1/2 months lol beauty lil guy/girl, have fun with him/her :)
15" in 10 weeks

Agreed, what was he on, Gutt loaded Live food + Steroids

Not that unbelievable really, i've only had my silver which is over 27" long for 19 months and it was only 6" when i bought it, in the first few months an inch a week is pretty average if given a protein rich varied diet.

Better get this monster tank up and running fast because mine was cramped in the 200g within a year.

Nice silver aro they do grow fast 1-2inch per month

i noticed from your pics the aro is swimming with it tail up all the time

if the tail up all the time carrys on he may have a swim bladder problem some aros get it when you move them when small

one of my xbacks had it but after a month and 3 inch of growth it should sort its self out

hahaha lol, no actually I was feeding him a diet of Hikari Carnivore Pellets, live crickets and live superworms(with the heads cut off). Superworms really did a number making him a nice big fatty lol.

Hey,

Sorry for any Harsh words in the Past. Water under the bridge i hope.

The Tail up is only after he has eaten and gets a little weighed down from the amount he wolfs down.

Can't wait for the pond to get started in the spring.

With those dimentions no one will make that tank out of glass.

Oh they will build it, but a tank that size would need 18-20mm thick glass so you would be talking multiple thousands of pounds, and then you get the other problem that everything in the tank has a green tint to it so the water looks like thin pea soup

Wow! Get me a silver arrow! He's adorable(in arowana terms...)Take good care of him, and also, if you have an unfinished basement or cellar, coat it with cement, and flood it!

Thanks, Nice idea but not many homes have basements/cellars in the uk.
