hi all

wat is the min size tank u could keep a single one in??

it would b around 2inch at the mo

thanx all

What type of piranha, as some need larger tanks than others.

They are schooling fish too so keep in mind you probably want at least 2 to 3.

a 75 gallon would be the minimum size for a school of 5 red bellied piranhas ( with less that five they can become very insecure and stressed), but this would only be with extensive water changes, as they are very messy fish.
A Black Rhom is a solitary piranha that can only be kept alone, but grows significantly larger that red bellies and should also be kept in a 75 gallon.

I would say 100 gallons for 5 red bellied piranhas. Read in a thread that I can't seem to find now, that 20 gallons for 1 piranha is a good estimate. So for 5, you'd need a 100 gallon tank at least... I'll try to find the thread I saw that info in...

AHA... Here it is!

Only applies if you plan on keeping red bellied piranhas I guess, you'll have to be more specific if you want anymore help I'm afraid...

Im a piranha keeper my self i have a 55g with three of them they get along great but if you only want 1 this can be very boreing and their not that aggressive so id suggest a bigger tank and get a shoal also i will send you a website on them.
