i will try to get a pic with the boyfriends camera but i am 99% sure piranha is a boy, i tryed to put him back in with the girls and he was fine for a minit then he started flaring and chasing the girls around, when he flares it goes from around his head < where people ears are> to down under his chin, could he still be a girl? theere might be a eggs spot,, or it could be his butt hole its really tiny. any way i have no idea what type he could be ,, i thought he was a ct girl when i bought him but watching him flare he looks a little different,, he is definatly a ct but with short fins like a girl,, his anal fin is really tore up so no help there but his tail is diffent from the other ct girls instead of a more rounded shape its almost ,, but not quite up and down,,, more like 15o degrees than 180 but still short like a placket and i think when the rays on his tail split ther are two or three on each branch,, but i am no expert..so what a super delta placket crown tail cross? da@@ lfs for selling me the crazy thing

When we had our first batch of females we suspected Diesel to be a boy (which he was) We put him in the breeding net because he was harrassing the girls so much and after a day or 2 he started building bubble nests. He's now in his own tank. It's not foolproof but a pic of him/her flaring would really help. Does he flare when you put a mirror up to him.

well at the moment he is hiding causei think i pissed him off netting him and the whole camera thing,, my bf will post pics tommorow when he gets home, yes he flare at his reflection and at the other males that he can see,, or he could be a really b@@#$% girl will get pics up tommorow

If (s)he has a beard when (s)he flairs, then (s)he is definitely a he. I recently bought 4 females, 3 of which are PK males, the one who was a girl died of fungus because I didn't get the meds in time.

oh well then i think piranha is def a boy then, maby a plaket ct cross, i really wanted him to be a girl,, i dont want to breed short fined plakets and if he is a boy he will then take up useless space
