Doing a re-pipe on my sump assy and will need to add some extra pipework. Existing is made by Spears which I think is USA brand. Its all imperial.

What type of plastic pipe is ok with salt water?

Where do I get it from?

Any help gladly accepted.

Magic.

Any pipe made for transfer of potable,(human consumption), water is fine. There are differences even here though.

One type of pipe is standard for coldwater, and drains. That is the schedule 40 pipe. The other household type, (drawing a blank at the moment), must be used to meet code for water lines with temps over 140 degrees. You can use this type, but it is not needed as your tank should never ever come close to those temps.

Buy yourself those cool plastic pipe sheers too. Kinda costly, but makes the whole job a bit more enjoyable.

Remember, measure twice, cut once... :D

Magic,

If you can afford it go for ABS, it's by far the best for the money.

I install rather large sterile purified water systems for Hospitals, Glaxo Smith Kline, Coca Cola to name but a few and that would be perfect

If you want to go completely over the top use PVDF but there is by far no need for it or if you cant afford ABS then use PVC, alot of people say dont use it as it comes with problems, the only problems you get with PVC is below 0 degrees C as it becomes brittle and snaps easy

ABS goes from -40 to +60

Hope this helps
