One of my fry has reached around 2.3 cm and seems too big to fit into the mouth of the swordtails, but she's mostly sitting inside the bush with the fry born 3 days ago.
I put powdered flakes inside the main tank in addition to the ones in the fry cage, but I wonder if they will reach my oldest fry and the younger fry. So far there is one tiny fry that has taken the filter's top as his territory, that one's the only one to get the flakes before the bigger fish do.
Are those flakes enough?

She's feeding along with the adults at the surface now. I guess this could work out. Hope she survives the night though.

At almost an inch long, she should be just fine in your main tank.
Yeah, except that my catfish seems to be mad at her. She tried to attack the smaller fish he's guarding and he made a weird display at her. Now when he sees her at the surface he chases her away. Can these fish see well at night? The adults appear to see quite well though.

I think he scared her and now she won't go to the surface. Hope she can get food at the bottom somehow.

I have never seen a healthy fish starve because of the actions of other fish. They can be quite ingenious about finding some food to eat.

Well, tonight might decide whether she's fit enough to survive. If she sits at the bottom, the catfish won't bother her. If she goes to the top and the hoplo usually sucks water/food there, she might get squished against something or eaten (though I've never seen him eat live fish and he even guards fry that he could gulp immediately and only time he tried he got scared when he saw it move - my male swordtail, who was smaller and could have fitted in his mouth easily back then).

Pinky's ok. Seems like the others are showing her how to get food from the surface as they all join to skim when I put flakes there. Now she's busy pecking the fry cage's net. No idea what she's grazing on there but at least her mother stopped nipping her and won't let Eris nip Pinky either.

She's hanging out with the members of the "Square Table" lol.

Her mommy compared to her. They both poop as much...

Tzuppy and one of the fry that were born this week. There are 4 others roaming the tank, one is always atop the filter and 2 keep pecking each other around the bogwood.

I don't have algae though. o_O even my apple snails would starve to death if I weren't putting them outside in a bowl to give them flakes.
Pinky seems to be feeding on the debris that falls on the sand, but her mother seems to be poking her with her nose to get her to the surface during feeding time. Pinky stays there a bit and then runs as soon as Tzuppy starts to vacuum the dust on the surface. -.-

Last night I saw her and the parents sleeping near the filter together. So cute how she was between Bee and Cracker. Eris preferred to sleep at the other end of the tank though. And Tzuppy was snooping about, looking for food in the sand and at the surface.

I just did some measurements...

If Ninja is 1.2 cm... then Pinky is around 1.5 cm in actuality. o_O Yet she's still ok with the other swordies.
Might have to wait a while before I can add Ninja there. Almost sure he's a male, he's smaller and slender and seems to have a gonopodium developing.
They'll both be 3 months of age in July.
Sushi's a bit smaller, maybe 0.8 cm, unknown gender yet and 1 month old.
