Pineapple Swordtail With Crooked Spine

My dominate pineapple swordtail has a crooked spine and it worries me.

Ph: 6.5

Ammonia: 0.0

Nitrates: 5.0

Last water change: Friday

He does look bad. Did he have it when you got him or just develop it? How long have you had him. Do you know how old he is?

He developed it in the last month ago and I had him for about 2 and a half months. Right now he is leaning on the side of the glass panting up a storm
 
Do you have an airstone in tank/ on hand?
 
Hmm then I'm afraid I can't help any more :( I hope he gets better. Keep us updated :sad:
 
Snails do not attack a live fish, ever. Developments in mature fish are often the result of poor water quality but weekly water changes pretty much eliminate that except for one item. Xiphophorus, swordtails or platies, usually are found in rather hard water which tends to have a high pH. It may be that you simply do not have enough minerals in your tap water to keep swordtails. Do you have any idea what your GH and KH are? It might help us analyze this issue.

He passed away but all the other fish are doing fine.
