Pimple?

I went to my LFS today, and saw a 5" Satanoperca leucosticta with a small thing on it's side that looked like a pimple. I'm interested in buying this fish, but I'm worried about the spot. Does anyone know anything about pimple-like spots on fish?

Sometimes it is a parasitic like thing that has grown and caused a pus ball, SOMETIMES

Is there anyway to treat it, or should I just not even consider getting the fish?

I would stay away from it, find another, I really don't know of any treatments though.

Aw, poo. I love Satanoperca leucosticta... they're my favorite cichlid. (I've already got 2, hehe)

Why not come back there in a week or two to see if they get more or go in there within the next few days to ask about it. Don't be afraid to ask, they will prioritize it more if a costumer want's any.

Well, they usually have them, but they are about 1" long... This one is 5", and I was thinking about getting it to put in my new 75gl. I think I'll just grow out my little ones. If they still have it in a couple of weeks, and it looks like it lost the "pimple", then maybe I'll get it. Who knows.
