Hello. I want to breed cory's, i was just looking on the net and saw a picture of pigmy corys and they're adorable little things.
HAs anyone had them. Are they hard to get??? I live in nz so i"d probly have to have a look. How big do pigmys get?? they look pretty small.
I want to breed some corys. Are these a harder type to breed, apposed to bronze or albino???
If anyone's had them, could you enlighten me??? :D

I've got two pygmys at the moment though i beleive they get along better in shoals. Mine have only grown to 1.5cm long so they stay tiny and i beleive its worth putting them in a small planted tank with other small fish so that you get to see them. They are very easy to look after but can be quite shy so supply hiding places! Try Planet Catfish.com for more info on these little guys! As for breeding I don't know. Good Luck

there are 2 species it could be:
corydoras hastatus is a true pygmy cory
and corydoras panda are a really small cory

also there is a group of truely tiny catfish called aspidoras which are pretty cool and easy to keep

i have all of these at the shop i work at so if your in the south send me a pm

I live in New zealand, so it may be a little out of the way. Assuming you're from uk or usa, cause everyone else appears to be. The picture I saw was on Planet catfish and it did say pigmy so I dunno. They're cute anyway.

Hi sushi :)

There are three kinds of dwarf cory. They are:

C. pygmaeus:

C. habrosus:

C. hastatus:

They are all much smaller than even the C. panda corys. For this reason I would not recommend them for a beginning breeder. A school of 6 or so would not take up very much room in your tank, however, and would be a great addition to it. :D
