Pictus Catfish

I have a 36 gallon tank with 1 roseline shark, 1 gold gourami, 5 neon tetras and 3 gold tetras.

I recently saw pictus catfish at my local fish store and love them. Would they be compatible in my tank? Would they outgrow it? WOuld they eat my tetras?

The tank size is fine, but Pictus like to be in small schools, so I would at least get two Pictus for the tank. But they are catfish and are opportunistic eaters so the tetras may be at risk when the lights go out.

We had a pictus cat for a long time. He did just fine with our tetras and such.

I'd recommend a three foot minimum tank size although mine fared better when kept in a 5 foot tank as they are very active fish and will make full use of the space. They are best kept in groups of at least 3+ and need hiding places in the tank.
They can be predatory and your Neon Tetras would be at risk when the Pictus are big enough to fit them in their mouths.
