Alright, so my friend has his little 1.5" green terror in a 29gallon tank as a grow out tank, then it get's a 75gallon to itself (or something along those lines, 75 gallons or more I should say) anyways, he's got a sand bottom in his 29gallon tank and he doesn't like the fact that if any food touches the sand, his Green terror refuses to eat it, even frozen blood worms or brine shrimp! So, he want's to add a few Pictus catfish to the 29gallon tank, then probably into the 75+gallon tank in the long run.

The question is, will the Pictus catfish and the Green terror get along?

My GT wouldn't tolerate Pim Blochii, which are basically a bigger version of Pictus but he's been quite happy with 2 Hoplo's and a Tiger Plec for the last couple of years. :dunno:

Very unpredictable fish IME.

So it basically will depend on his GT itself? Alright, I'll pass that on to him and see how he plans to act, if I was him I'd just add a couple of Pictus to the tank, see how they get along and keep a close eye on em.

You'll have more chance of success if they grow up together - that is of course if the Pim's survive the initial meeting.

Don't see any problem with trying it provided your friend has a spare tank, or at the very least a divider, just in case things don't work out. :good:

He's already got a 55gallon tank that has his 4 pictus cats in it, I assume he'll transfer them from that tank to the 29gallon and if things don't work out, then right back into the 55gallon they go.

Pictus will eat anything that will fit in its mouth :shout:
Just remember that they will grow to about 6" so they get big mouths.

I wouldn't put pictus in a 29g tank with a GT.. Wait until the 75 is ready for fish... Put the pictus in first, then put the GT in.
