pictures from my balcony

people were posting cool flower pictures, so i thought i'd try my hand at it. here are some (not as nice flowers) from my balcony.

and this is from my balcony, i don't know what it is (probably just weeds), but it looks so soft

They aren't weeds, they are native plants. the really soft looking ones are horetail, very delicate plants, very old, the horse shoe crabs of the plant world. and the harder looking ones in the lower right hand corner are fireweed, around the fourth of July you will recognise it, if you get out there fast you can pic and eat the fireweed shoots while they are red, The horse tail can be eaten while small too (before the thingies come out of the sides) but at the point they are at now all they are good for is tea, too much silica. I'll bet there are some berries out there too, maybe some rose hips too, seems like the kinda place you'd find wild roses.
