Got this boy from my lfs, he's a stunning colour. I've had him a while now, this is him today

Love the colour. What size is th tank?

That's just an 8 litre fluval spec. That's my smallest Betta setup the rest are 21 litres and 60 litres. He's been in there ages now, the tank is cycled and because it's so small I do a full water change each week and he's doing great. The heater is slotted in a compartment in the back with the filter.

the evaporation on that tank is a pain though. I fill it right to the top every week when I clean it and you can see how much evaporates in the pic.

Thats what happens to my tank. Every day you can see how much its evaporated.

Finz n tailz by any chance? Pretty sure I've seen some very similar on their site - stunning it isn't a terribly big tank for him though - glad to hear you have a good w/c schedule Does he ever go in that cave?

No he was from my lfs shop and was £4. They can order them in. I've had that tank with a betta in it for ages now, never had any problems. My schedual is the same for my other tanks just a once weekly clean. Nothing special. Yes he's always in and out of the cave but I was thinking of chnging this whole tank and getting rid of that cave for more space for him.

How many Litres would you suggest for a betta tank?

I wouldn't personally keep a betta in anything smaller than 5 US gallons (around 19L). That is a fanastic price though - I wish my lfs would do that!
