It's worth noting the last 3 puffer species listed aren't infact brackish, but totally freshwater.

Quite true.
I noticed only the title of the post and not that it's under the brackish forum.

So I have to take a pic of my tetraodon fluviatilis..

Great stuff ;)

How does your SAP get on with the irrubesco? Mine got on fine in the short time they were in a tank together (they were getting their own tanks so it was only a couple of days) but long term, do yours get on alright? I currently keep my irrubesco with DP's and they get on alright, no squabbles. My SAP is well behaved as well so I'm considering doing a puffer community, but I know it would be a difficult tank to put together.

Thanks :D
Quite well. They 've been together for 1 month without much trouble. SAP's were first in the tank, so there was a bit bullying when the Irrubesco's got in, but generally SAP's are very peacefull. Irrubesco's are a bit territorial but only with their own kind. The tank has many hidding spots so things are going well for now.

My dream is a puffer community tank, but it would take a lot of research and luck to choose the puffers for it. What do you have in mind?

As for Brackish puffers:

Really nice GSP!
I'm in the look for one myself. Hopefully it will look as bright as yours.

:good:

usually the happier they are they brighter they are. But, most will darken with age to a degree. I have read that marine GSP's hold their color more than adult brackish GSP's. But dont have anything to back that up with either so dont quote me on that :) First month or so, dont expect a to happy of a puffer, as it takes them a good few weeks to get know you and settle in to the tank and captivity. Most are caught in the wild, making it a very tramatic first few weeks once purchasing one. But once they get to know you, they will beg for attention none stop.

Sounds like proper puffer attitude!
It took about 1 week for my tetraodon fluviatilis to acclimatize to it's new environment. Before that he would hide every time I was approaching the tank.

Hi Phlawed

I was talking to the guy in my LFS yesterday about GSPs and he was saying that most of GSPs are breed in captivity and that's why they are so cheap to buy. Mabby he is wrong but he does do all the ordering for the shop. ( just a thought)
