Pics Of My 40 Gallon

That's gonna take a hella a lotta temperature thingys and electricity to keep him alive

The goby won't be growing fast.

Your plec, like mine, is going to get an inch every month though.....

So it's more pressing.
In a 40, an 8 inch goby is fine. He'll be fine at least 2 more inches IMO. a 6 1/2 in a 10 is much more pressing.

i know i have to buy a 600$ chiller for over the summer!!

hmmmmm. seriously though. Dragons can get 2ft and more o_o''' to you may wanna consider larger than ever 55.

And, if you plan to take extensive care of fish, get some bumble bee gobies. They require you raise specific insects and such though, you you'll have to be commited.

But if you don't want those, go Puffer for tank mates....

I'm bad. I don't keep mine in full brackish. Still. he's doing great. Probably because he had 0 salt before this and has moved up to 1 tbsp per 5 gallons....

but he has no problems. Doesn't even bother the tetra.

nope. He's been in there 3 weeks.

Hasn't touched a tetra.
Hasn't harmed a scale on the False flying fox.

Heck, he didn't even touch the amano shrimps :hyper:

wanna know why?

They can fit in his mouth, but not his throat  So they won't even bother.

To care for bumble bee gobies you do not need to culture insects or such. They are picky eaters, but 99% will adapt to frozen foods.

May I ask what type of salt you are using? If you are using aquarium salt, AKA tonic salt, you are doing nothing to alter chemistry. To create brackish condition you need a marine salt mix, such as instant ocean. This is all too common of a mistake, but unfortunately kills many high-end brackish water fish.

A tank outside?... I don't know what the weather is like in Texas.. but for some reason I don't imagine it would be easy to keep a tank outside properly.

no, thats why i have to watch the temp frequently cuz weather changes rapidly in texas unlike any other state....

heh i know its going to be a pain but if it means keeping my algea eater alive, ill do it

you're kidding!?!

aquarium salt does NOTHING to the salinity? wow....

The tonic salt isn't 'proper' salt though, marine salt is the way to increase the salinity.

.... then how the heck is my dragon goby still so healthy?
