Hey everone I am picking up my new Angelfish tommorow. My tank I posted pictures of earlier is a 45 Gallon from AllGlassAquarium.
It measures 24 inches HIGH, 36 inches wide from left to right, and 12 inches deep from front to back.
So it's a pretty tall skinny tank. I know Angels like taller tanks that is the reason I purchased this size tank. I myself prefer longer not as high tanks.
My water is already to go been cycling for 4 weeks, been adding cycle to the tank, etc etc. All water TESTS look perfect.
There is going to be 8 angels total all the same color/type/fins/age. I have good filteration, plenty of air and plan to do water changes as often as I have to. This tank will be dedicated to the Angels, so there will be NO more fish in this tank.
I know 8 fish is pushing it, but I am hoping to get 2 pairs from a group of 8 for a possible attempt at breeding in the future.
The tank is heavily planted with atificial plants, but there is still good swimming room in the front and upper back of the tank.
Do Angels prefer heavily planted or would they prefer more open areas to swim? I think I went a little over-board with the plants.
Basically I am wondering if they are going to have enough room to swim! I am also starting to wonder if I should just remove all of the plants and just use the black background with black gravel instead, this way giving them the maxium swimming space.
This tank is not as big as I wish it could be, but I do not have anymore space for anything bigger. In the future I may setup a breeding tank or 2 in my basement but for now this is going to be my main display tank.
Here are the pictures of the tank now with the plants.
Just want the best for my new fish. I havent had a tank in about 12-years and I cant wait to get back into the hobby.
