I would say he's a Gold Gourami - Trichogaster trichopterus

You think? But dont gold gouramis get like....huge?

I believe they get to about 5-6", but maybe someone else can confirm this.

I do know that Gold Gouramis, and other three spot Gouramis can get very territorial, and sometimes the males will kill each other. It's usually not a problem when they are younger, but as they get older, they will get more aggressive.

As you can see in this pic below, all three gouramis in the tank are behind that log to the left.
These pictures were taken tonight-how old do you think he is? He's about 7-8 months old-prolly older-I've only had him for 7-8 months.

Yep, definately a gold. Great fish, sure can be a little territorial but loads of personaility.

The gold pattern is just a colour morph of the photo lower down the page!

Yup Gold deffo that one.. They can get to about 6".. mines about that now. Great personality.. but he does tend to get bullied a bit by my male pearl whos a grumpy arse at the best of times.. but its a big tank so they get by OK.
Just keep an eye on them as they get to full maturity.. and if you have had them that long already it should be some time around now. Also increase weed and hiding places so if there are any probs they can hide from each other.

I was actully thinking about that last night when I took the pics. The need more hiding places as it is!

PS, Everyone, My tank looks green, but its not. Its the Green gravel that gives off that weird effect. I also cleaned my tank after that pic was take, so it looks alittle dirty. it is clean, and the conditions are perfect. I am not a mean fishkeeper that makes his fish live in green puddles full of their own waste!

the blue gourami si a color morph of the gold, actually the gold is albino, but the blue will also get to be 6 inches.

In the 10 gallon size they may fight, and if they do a 20 gallon would be best for them at that time.

Yeah......This summer, I am going to get a 29G. I think they can wait. They're almost done growing, correct?
